Day 2- Realize the blessing of the Word
Scripture – Revelation 1:1-3
There is no denying it, we all like to be blessed. Blessings make our lives easier but we need to understand that earthly blessings are temporary; they can all be taken away (remember Job?).
There are chapters in our lives when we go through painful experiences and some of those blessings may dry up for various reasons but we need to realize that one of the greatest blessings in our lives is the very Bible you read today.
Read Revelation 1:3 again, ‘Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.’
God told us that His Word brings blessing to your life when read aloud, when heard and lived out. That blessing ranges from the soothing of your soul (a comforting Psalm during grief), to reminder of your future (the assurance of worshipping Jesus in heaven), to fulfillment in life (serving Jesus and this world in His name), to walking the right path in life (conviction to leave a sin behind and walk as Jesus walked).
The reading of the Word, it’s a blessing and one that we often neglect to embrace.

- Ask God to stir up a passion for reading and meditating on His Word in your life
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to challenge each of us at Hope Fellowship to pick up our bibles and open them
- Pray that the Holy Spirit would make you teachable for what is read in Scripture
A prayer for us all
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and that You have told us what will happen before it happens so that we will believe. May I read, mark, and learn from all You have told me in the Bible and may I be guided by the Holy Spirit into all truth. But above all, as I read this book, I pray that Jesus would be revealed to me, more and more, and I would know Him more clearly, love Him more dearly, and follow Him more nearly, all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
